for Melinda. Dr. Houston now thinks she may have spilled multiple stones from her gallbladder before she ever got to the ER on Sunday night and that has been the cause of her ongoing pain. They did more bloodwork this afternoon and her bilirubin count was up. The good news is that her pancreatic count was down so they don't think a stone has traveled into the pancreas. They took her in for an MRI about 9:15 tonight and have her scheduled for surgery first thing in the morning. Her mom didn't know exactly what they are going to do but asked for everyone's prayers that they will finally be able to resolve Melinda's pain. This has been a long week for our little Mel, and for her mom. Her mom has been right there at her side and, I don't care how old you get, it is still hard for a mom to watch her child suffer. Please remember Melinda and pray too that God will guide Dr. Houston's hands to finally find the way to end her pain and restore her health.

I took my daughter home yesterday afternoon. She is moving slow but that's to be expected with a 7" incision. Other than that she's doing well. Her furbabies sure were glad to see her. I had to run interference and let the dogs work off their initial excitement on me so they would be more gentle with her. I stayed with her until about 8:30 and my son spent the night with her. Since her husband is a firefighter, he would not get off duty until 6:30 this morning and we didn't want her to be alone overnight. My son lives closer to her and has more flexibility in when he goes in to work so that's why he offered to spend the night. Hubby will be home with her for the next 2 days. He works 24 on and 48 off.
